A LEGACY OF QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP
Custom Cabinet Shop has been synonymous with quality craftsmanship in Rutherford County for decades. Our journey began in 1953 when Dean Westbrooks honed his skills at a cabinet shop in Murfreesboro. In 1976, seizing an opportunity after the shop’s owner sold the business, Dean founded Custom Cabinet Shop, continuing a proud tradition of excellence in cabinetry.
GROWTH & LEGACY
Steve Westbrooks joined as one of the first employees in 1977 and became a managing partner in 1985. That same year, Custom Cabinet Shop relocated to a more central location on Vine Street near the downtown square. Our commitment to high standards of workmanship and exceptional customer service has allowed our small family shop to expand significantly over the years, growing from a handful of dedicated employees to a thriving team of skilled professionals.
In 2001, Dean passed the legacy of Custom Cabinet Shop to Steve, bringing nearly half a century of cabinet design and building experience to the next generation.
RESILIENCE & INNOVATION
In 2004, a fire devastated our shop on Vine Street, but Steve and Kathy Westbrooks demonstrated remarkable resilience. In 2005, they built a state-of-the-art facility at 805 Spur Street in Murfreesboro, allowing us to continue our tradition of excellence.
